This innovative program enables qualified seniors to directly enter CUHK’s PhD (4-year doctoral) programs in high-impact fields such as robotics, embodied intelligence, AI, automation, information science, materials science, and mechanical engineering. Successful applicants receive full financial support. The streamlined application process begins in the fall semester of senior year, with selected students transitioning seamlessly to CUHK upon SJTU graduation. Designed to cultivate future research leaders, the GDP Program combines GC’s rigorous engineering training with CUHK’s world-class research ecosystem, creating a powerful platform for interdisciplinary innovation and academic excellence.
