Term Dates
Global College has a different academic calendar with the rest of the SJTU schools. Term dates are usually set as follows:
- Fall Term: 14 or 15 weeks from mid-September to late-December (before Christmas)
- Spring Term: 9 or 10 weeks from late-February to end of April
- Summer Term: 13 weeks from Mid-May to Mid-August
* SJTU has a two semester calendar, with its fall starts at the same time with the Global College in September but ends in early January, and its Spring starts at the same time with the Global College too and also ends earlier in April.
* These dates may vary by a few days from year to year. Up to date and more detailed information can be found in the Academic Calendar.
* Please note that Spring is not a major semester at GC therefore the course options will be limited. Please consult your program advisors before applying.
Course List and Enrollment
All courses at Global College, including supporting recitation sessions, are taught exclusively in English using English-language textbooks and references. The curriculum draws on the latest industry developments, follows a US model, and mirrors the course offerings of top-tier universities.
Core engineering courses are offered every year, while elective courses may vary slightly from term to term. Exchange and visiting students should enroll in courses a few weeks before the new semester begins. The International Programs Office will provide detailed enrollment instructions in advance.
Obtain Course Syllabi
Once exchange and visiting students have been admitted by SJTU/GC, they will receive their SJTU student ID numbers. With these credentials, students can log in to GC Canvas to access and download course syllabi for evaluation at their home institutions.
For course information, please go and search it at Courses Directory by by Number.
Transcripts
Upon completing their studies at GC, exchange and visiting students can request official electronic transcripts directly through the SJTU app, "My SJTU" (Jiao Wo Ban). The International Programs Office will provide guidance on this process.
Electronic transcripts are typically available within 2–3 weeks after the term ends. Students enrolled in graduate-level courses will receive a separate graduate transcript, which will be issued at the beginning of the following semester by the International Programs Office.
