Runye Lu, a postdoctoral researcher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Global College (SJTUGC, abbreviated as GC), has been selected for the 2025 Shanghai Super Postdoctoral Fellow Incentive Program. The funding initiative, part of the city’s effort to support exceptional talent, aims to foster cutting-edge research and innovation. The result was announced following personal application, institutional recommendation, and expert review organized by the Shanghai Municipal Talent Bureau, in accordance with the Implementation Measures for the Shanghai “Super Postdoctoral Fellow” Incentive Program.

Runye Lu, whose collaborative supervisor is GC Associate Professor Yanfeng Shen, received his Ph.D. from SJTU in June 2025 and subsequently remained with the research group as a postdoctoral researcher. His research focuses on structural health monitoring technologies based on high-frequency resonance and ultrasonic guided waves.
To date, Runye Lu has published 15 papers as first author, holds 11 published or authorized patents, and has been granted eight software copyrights. He has delivered oral presentations at more than 20 high-level international conferences. His research achievements have received wide international recognition, earning multiple awards, including the ASME IMECE 2021 Best Student Paper Award, the ASME QNDE 2023 Best Student Poster Award, the ASME IMECE 2023 Best Student Poster Award, and the SPIE SS+NDE 2025 Best Student Paper Award.
In addition, Runye Lu serves as a young committee member of the Equipment Structural Health Monitoring and Early Warning Subcommittee of the China Instrument and Control Society. His selection for the 2025 Shanghai “Super Postdoctoral Fellow” Incentive Program reflects both his academic excellence and GC’s continued commitment to cultivating high-level research talent.
