Yanfeng Shen, Tenured Associate Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Global College (SJTUGC, abbreviated as GC hereafter), received the First Prize of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Teaching and Education Award at the university’s celebration of the 42nd Teachers’ Day and 2026 Teaching, Education and Research Achievement Awards Ceremony held on September 9.
The Teaching and Education Award is the highest-level university honor recognizing outstanding contributions to talent cultivation at SJTU. It honors faculty members who have made significant contributions to fostering virtue through education, advancing teaching excellence, and promoting the enhancement of student development.

Personal Introduction
Yanfeng Shen is a Tenured Associate Professor, Ph.D. supervisor, Deputy Party Secretary, and Associate Dean for Research at GC. He has been recognized as a Shanghai Rising Star Program awardee and is a recipient of the Achenbach Medal in structural health monitoring, a leading honor for young researchers in the field. He was the first researcher from China to receive the award, which is presented annually to one young scholar in the field worldwide. As the course leader of Introduction to Engineering, Shen has led the course to its selection as a National First-Class Undergraduate Course. He has also received the inaugural SJTU Jiahe Teaching Excellence Award, the SJTU Koguan Top Ten Teachers Award, and the First Prize of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Teaching Achievement Award as the first recipient. His other honors include the Shanghai May Fourth Youth Medal and the Outstanding Party Affairs Worker Award of the Shanghai education system.
