Six students from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Global College (SJTUGC, abbreviated as GC hereafter) participated in an SJTU synchronized skating performance titled Rewrite the Stars at a municipal-level competition in Shanghai, where the team won the First Prize with the highest ranking in its category.
The SJTU figure skating team, including GC undergraduate students Leqi Chen, Ruobei Jing, Yuanchi Zhou, Luming Xu, and Tianchen Dong, as well as doctoral student Xuqing Yang, achieved the result at the Shanghai University Ice and Snow Sports Invitational held at the Shanghai University Sports Center on May 20.
The competition marked the first appearance of SJTU Figure Skating Association at a city-level event. In preparation, team members completed off-ice rehearsals and on-ice training, focusing on choreography and coordination through continuous practice and collaboration.

Leqi Chen, a GC student and team member, shared her experience after the competition: “I have been learning figure skating since childhood, which has helped me develop both technical skills and a strong interest in the sport. For this competition, I contributed to choreography based on my experience and trained with my teammates while balancing academic responsibilities. We practiced at different ice rinks and worked on improving coordination as a team. Winning the First Prize in synchronized skating was a meaningful achievement shared by all members.”
