Two undergraduate students of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Global College (SJTUGC, abbreviated as GC hereafter) have won the honor of SJTU Outstanding Undergraduate Graduates (International Students) for the Class of 2026, according to a recent announcement of SJTU International Student Service Center.

Krin Muangsiri from Thailand and Yumeng He from the United States are among the 16 winners selected from all international undergraduate students on SJTU campuses who are expected to graduate this year. The award recognizes graduating international students who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance, active engagement in research and community service, and meaningful contributions to cultural exchange.

Over the past four years, the two honorees have excelled in their respective fields while actively participating in student organizations, academic competitions, and extracurricular activities, showcasing the well-rounded development of international students at GC.

Krin Muangsiri, from Thailand, is an undergraduate student majoring in Mechanical Engineering at GC. During his study over the past four years, he has demonstrated excellent academic performance and well-rounded development in moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education. He has received numerous honors, including the First-Class Shanghai Government Scholarship, the GC John Wu and Jane Sun Merit Scholarship, first place in the volleyball competition at the Shanghai Student Games, and the title of “SJTU Sports Star.” While serving as President of the International Students Association at the college, he actively contributed to fostering an international campus environment and has consistently worked to promote the SJTU brand and Chinese higher education in Thailand and around the world.

Speaking of his overseas study and future plan, Krin Muangsiri said: “The experiences I have gained and the challenges I have encountered at GC have contributed significantly to my personal growth over the past four years. Now, I hope to apply what I have gained here—knowledge, perspective, and exposure—to build something meaningful for Thailand.”

Yumeng He came to China in 2022 and enrolled in the undergraduate program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at GC, where she is expected to graduate in August 2026. During her studies, she has demonstrated strong academic performance and active engagement in Chinese cultural exploration and the arts. With expertise in programming and computer architecture, she is interested in integrating technological innovation with creativity. She has also been actively involved in campus cultural activities and has maintained a strong interest in the Chinese language, history, and arts, with a commitment to promoting Chinese culture and fostering mutual understanding among civilizations through cross-cultural exchange.

“My life at GC has taught me the importance of international communication and the responsibility of engineering in shaping the world,” said He. “I hope to continue contributing to creative development and to strengthening collaboration and understanding across cultures.”
