Terahertz Wireless Communications Interdisciplinary Research Center
The center is equipped with advanced terahertz wireless communication platforms, high-precision millimeter-wave/terahertz integrated circuit testing systems, and ultrafast optoelectronic detection and imaging facilities. It possesses comprehensive R&D capabilities covering device technology, chip design, channel measurement and modeling, and system integration. The center is supported by national-level research bases, including the State Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneous Integration, the National Key Laboratory of Photonic Transmission and Communications, and the Cooperative Medianet Innovation Center.

Focusing on next-generation high-frequency wireless communications and intelligent sensing, the center’s research interests include terahertz communication theory and systems, RF and terahertz integrated hardware, integrated sensing and communication, structural health monitoring, terahertz optoelectronics, as well as information theory and channel coding. By integrating expertise in communications, electronics, photonics, materials, and intelligent systems, the center has established a distinct interdisciplinary profile in high-frequency communications and advanced information processing. The center currently has the following members: Qianli Chen, Chong Han, Xuyang Lu, Min Qiu, Yanfeng Shen, Wenjie Wan, and Jiacheng Xie (listed in alphabetical order by surname). Wenjun Gao is the secretary of the center.
Research outcomes have been published in leading international journals such as Science, Nature Electronics, Nature Communications, IEEE JSAC, Physical Review Letters, IEEE TWC, and IEEE TMTT. Furthermore, the center actively engages in industry-academia-research collaborations to drive the application and translation of key terahertz technologies in future information networks, intelligent sensing, and frontier optoelectronics.
